School Field Trips
Educational Boat Tour through the Dora Canal, where students can observe and learn about the biology, geography, and history of the bald cypress tree lined river. Common sightings on the canal are Alligators, Turtles, Great Blue Herons, Anhingas and Egrets. In addition to the boat tour there is the opportunity to take place in a dip net activity to learn more about the smaller animals that live in the murky waters of Lake Dora.
Through virtualfieldtrip.org and ditchthattextbook.com you have the opportunity to take the boat Tour through the Dora Canal without leaving the classroom. This educational virtual tour will give you a close up look at all the wildlife that can be found in the Dora Canal.

Opportunity for high school students to learn about working in the tourism industry and how to drive a boat. They will assist the crew member and Captain on board one of the 40 foot pontoon boats and share their knowledge of the Geography, History and Flora & Fauna of the Dora Canal and the Harris Chain of Lakes. Once competent they will have the opportunity to work as a paid crew member on tours. All hours spent on board the boats can be logged and put towards the required boat hours for a Captains License. There will be an opportunity to have their Captains License Course paid for by Premier Adventures.
